Our purchase agreement reflects our lifelong commitment to every puppy we raise, and every family we welcome. It is designed to protect your puppy, provide peace of mind, and clearly explain what you can expect from Vermont Golden Meadows.
This contract is provided for informational purposes. The final signed contract will be provided at the time of purchase. Please read it carefully and contact us with any questions before your puppy's go-home day.
Health Guarantee
Vermont Golden Meadows confirms that each puppy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian and is believed to be in good health at the time of placement. The buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of going home. If a serious health condition is discovered during the examination, the buyer must notify Vermont Golden Meadows immediately and provide written veterinary documentation. Any remedy will be handled according to the terms of the signed puppy agreement. Vermont Golden Meadows does not offer monetary refunds or reimbursement of veterinary expenses.
Two-Year Genetic Health Guarantee
We guarantee our puppies against life-altering genetic conditions for two years from the date of birth. If a puppy is diagnosed with a debilitating hereditary condition within this period, we will offer a replacement puppy from a future litter. This guarantee requires proof of annual veterinary care and that the puppy has been maintained at a healthy weight.
Spay / Neuter Agreement
All pet-quality puppies are sold on a limited AKC registration and must be spayed or neutered. We recommend waiting until 24 months of age to allow for proper physical and hormonal development.
Return Policy
Vermont Golden Meadows will always accept the return of a dog we have bred, at any age, if circumstances arise that make it impossible for the family to continue providing proper care. We ask every puppy family to understand that bringing a puppy home is a lifelong commitment and to take that responsibility seriously. Before considering rehoming, the family must contact Vermont Golden Meadows so we can discuss the situation and help determine the best and safest next step. No dog bred by Vermont Golden Meadows may ever be surrendered to a shelter or rescue.
Feeding & Care Requirements
The buyer agrees to provide proper veterinary care, a nutritious diet, regular exercise, and a loving home environment. The buyer agrees not to use the dog for commercial breeding, dog fighting, or any activity that would compromise the dog's welfare.
Deposit & Payment Terms
A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required to reserve a place for a future Vermont Golden Meadows puppy. The deposit will be applied toward the puppy's purchase price and helps cover preparation expenses, including veterinary care, deworming, microchipping, and AKC registration paperwork. Because litter size cannot be guaranteed, the deposit may be transferred to another litter for up to one year from the original scheduled go-home date. The remaining balance is due no later than one week before the puppy's scheduled go-home date.
